Tylenol is acetaminophen, and Motrin is an ibuprofen. They can be taken together, I am a nurse and have done it many times myself, and for my patients. Just make sure you are giving the appropriate doses of both medications, and then yes, they can be given at the same time.

∙ 12y agoMotrin is Ibuprofen, so you can take them together, but don't exceed 800mg combined every 6-8 hours. It should be easier to take one or the other. If pain management is difficult to achieve with just ibuprofen, alternate with Acetaminophen (Tylenol). e.g., take Motrin when you wake up at 8, then Tylenol at 12, then more Motrin at 4 and another dose of Tylenol at 8. Be sure not to take more than 1000mg of Tylenol in a dose

Can you take Tylenol and Midol together?
Yes, but only if the Midol product that you've chosen does not have ibuprofen in it. There are several formulations of Midol, and I know at least one of them has it in it! Read the back of the packaging...if it says ibuprofen, don't take extra ibuprofen with it. If it says acetaminophen (as well as other ingredients that are NOT ibuprofen), you can go ahead and take it with ibuprofen.
What happens if you take 3 ibuprofen?
Nothing really. You can upset your stomach and/or cause ulcers with too much, however when I hurt my back the doctor gave me a prescription for 800mg of ibuprofen and I had to take it three times per day (that is 4 normal ibuprofen tabs) I just wouldn't take it for long periods of time. If you have that intense pain for that long, tell your doctor, and they will prescribe something else that will help much better.
