As long as your past your first trimester. I took it for a ear infection at 17 weeks pregnant and now I am almost 21 weeks and I am back on it again. I asked three different doctors and they all said it was safe. and I looked on the FDA website and it falls in the safe catergory as tylenol.

Cephalexin is an oral, semisynthetic cephalosporin antibiotic. Reproduction studies found no evidence in rats, at doses up to 500 mg/kg, found no evidence of impaired fertility or reproductive performance or, in mice and rats, of fetal harm (1).

Several published reports have described the administration of cephalexin to pregnant patients in various stages of gestation (2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 and 11). None of these have linked the use of cephalexin with congenital defects or toxicity in the newborn. However, even though cephalosporins are usually considered safe to use during pregnancy, there are surveillance study with results contrasting to this information. for more information refer the link : http://drugsafetysite.com/cephalexin/

I'm not sure. I had to take this when I was six weeks pregnant. My daughter ended up with tibia hemimelia. Her tibia and knee cap were missing and she had to have her leg amputated at 9 months old. We were told that they believe this is genetics. Does anyone else have any experience with this?
