Yes, I had been taking Paxil for more than 5 years when I started to feel myself slipping back into a depressive state. I even began to have suicidal ideation. I went to my psychiatrist and was told that sometimes the body just needs a "jumpstart" to start responding to the Paxil again. Since it had been effective in the past, he added Wellbutrin and said that this would be the boost my body needed. He said I would probably have to be on it for a few years since my depression had become so severe. He would want to make sure I was stable but then I could quit the Wellbutrin and probably just take the Paxil alone again.
