i have am using sulfatrim for a sore throat however the symptoms are getting worst. Can i use Tylenol cold or Advil cold and sinus or Panadol multi symptoms instead even though i used the sulfatrim less than 24 hours ago
As far as i know there are no cross-sensitivities between Tylenol (acetaminophen) and sulfa based drugs.
So yes you can take Tylenol (acetaminophen)
Tylenol should not be mixed with alchohol and always check other over the counter (OTC) medicaions to see if they contain acetaminophen.
Taking other OTC medications containing acetaminophen as well as Tylenol could put you over the max daily dose without knowing it
These drugs or any drugs for that matter should be avoided at all costs when pregnant or breast feeding
You may want to double check with a pharmacist to be sure - idiosyncratic reactions are always possible with any drug (this is any type of rare reaction that is not expected or documented by the drug company)
yes just dont take more than the prescribed amount.
yes you can take Tylenol or advil. I asked my pharmacist to make sure. He said it was ok
800 ibuprofen will not get ride of your pain like tylenol codeine 3 will but it lasts longer (4 hours vs. 6 hours). Doctor usually prescribe ibuprofen for daytime use so you can still drive and function with little to no pain. Tylenol codeine 3 will get rid of your pain but you shouldn't drive or operate machinery on it. Really it depends on your situation and what your doctor prescribes (don't take either of these without consulting your doctor first).
Uhh, yes.
Tylenol is acetaminophen, and Motrin is an ibuprofen. They can be taken together, I am a nurse and have done it many times myself, and for my patients. Just make sure you are giving the appropriate doses of both medications, and then yes, they can be given at the same time.
yes taking Motrin is perfectly safe with acetominophen doctors usually recommend alternating acetominophen and nsaids in 2 hour intervals
Call a doctor, don't ask WikiAnswers.
Definitely. I take 800 n 2mg xanax pretty frequently when in pain
Yes, but not for extended periods, less than a week. Do not exceed 650mg Tylenol and 800mg Motrin per dose. Dose no more often than every 8 hours. Or you can alternate them every 4 hours.
800
Yes, although it may decrease the effectiveness (i.e. the pain relief or whatever will be less). That said, PLEASE PLEASE remember that many over the counter and prescription medications contain acetaminophen (Tylenol). Acetaminophen can change the way other drugs and alcohol you take are metabolized. There is a potential for serious overdose, drug interaction and for liver toxicity from acetaminophen. it is especially dangerous for small children if the recommended dose is exceeded. If you can tolerate the stomach and other gastric issues associated with ibuprofen (Advil), it has far less toxicity problems then acetaminophen.
Yes. Penicillin and sulfa drugs are antibiotics, and are not related to the ibuprofen drug group at all.
I just had some bones fused in my foot. (Subtalor Arthrodesis). And I checked with my Doctor and my pharmacy which I urge you to do also, for total peace of mind. Yes you can take them together or what I was doing was the ibuprofen every two hours and the percocet every 4 to 6 hours as needed for the really severe pain. The ibuprofen seemed to extend the pain killing peak of the percocet while effectivly managing the swelling under the compression bandage\cast. Doseage was 8oomg Ibuprofen every 6 hours slipped in between the doseage times for the percocet. But I found what worked better was 4oomg every 2 to 4 hours as needed in addition to the percocet. It's working well to manage pain and swelling as well. Generally yes, athough you shouldn't need to. The ibuprofen will supply more relief of inflammation. And the percocet will provide more pain relief from its narcotic and analgesic ingredients. but, they are not commonly prescribed together. If you received the prescriptions at different times, or are considering taking over the counter ibuprofen, you should ask your health care provider first. Of course you can. I'm in the military and I just got my wisdom teeth removed and ibuprofen 800 mg along with percocet were both prescribed to me. Yes. Percocet, much like hydro/oxycodone, contains tylenol. Ibuprofen is an entirely different drug than tylenol, and these are safe to take together. What you want to watch out for is taking too much tylenol. Consult your doctor for more exact advice.
