It's possible. Wait a week and take it again. some girls hormone levels are not as high as others. with both of my kids i never got a positive home pregnancy test until i was 7 weeks pregnant. wait at least a week and then try taking another test.

∙ 12y agoIf you keep getting a negative and are 20 days late I would go have a blood test done. You can go to your doctor or a clinic. Sometimes home pregnancy test never work for some people. I have heard of a woman in her 9th month that never got a positive home test taking one just to see if it would work then and still getting a negative.

∙ 15y agoUsually a woman won't ovulate until all hcg has disappeared from her body, and it is unusual but not impossible for a woman to bleed without ovulating (not counting situations where artificial hormones are being used.)
It is rare to have a positive pregnancy test 7 days after ovulation, but not impossible. It is entirely possible to get pregnant after having a baby without having had a period at all.
If you are less than 4 weeks postpartum, a positive pregnancy test is likely due to residual hcg in your body from your prior pregnancy. If you are more than 4 weeks, any positive pregnancy test is likely to be correct.

∙ 11y agoIt can be a chance of that being wrong. You need to make sure you use your first mornings urine. Also it's best if you haven't had anything to drink for a few hours and haven't urinated in a few hours, that's because it will be stronger and more likely to pick up the Hormones if your Pregnant

∙ 13y agoYes, but the results might not be 100% accurate, so you should take another one a week or two afterwards if you still don't get your period and the test is negative.

∙ 13y agoYou can but it may not be accurate for 5 days or so. If you get a positive result you are pregnant, if it is negative, wait a week and retest if your period is still late.
