Can you take darvocet ibuprofen and acetaminophen together?

Answer:

Darvocet already has acetaminophen in it, so you definitely need to be careful how much other acetaminophen you are taking. The maximum dose you can safely take (and even this is pushing it) is 1000mg per 6 hours. The general rule is no more than 4000mg in a 24 hour period. Darvocet can contain up to 650mg per dose. So simply taking two Darvocet may already put you over the limit of your safe dose of acetaminophen.

It is safe to mix ibuprofen with acetaminophen based products. It is also safe to take ibuprofen with the propoxyphene which is the main ingredient in Darvocet.
