Both cold sores (oral herpes) and genital herpes are caused by the herpes simplex virus. Either site of infection can be due to type 1 or type 2 herpes virus. But you would only transfer the infection if you touch the cold sore (or the spot in the lip where a cold sore is about to occur) and touching your genitals without washing. The virus is spread by skin to skin contact, and you are not likely to put your infected mouth on your own genitals.
depends if you just started getting them(2 weeks to 2 months) yes. if you've had it for a while (a year) no. Your body produces antibodies that prevent the spread of cold sores to any other part of your body than where it was originally infected.
Unless you touch the cold sore, and directly put it on the genitalia, it is not likely a cold sore will spread to genitals.
Yes it can be transmitted cold sore on to genitals.
A cold sore can go to genitals; either by the genital area coming into direct contact with an infected area, or for example if you touch an infected area and then touch the genital area.

If someone performing oral sex on you has a cold sore, you could get cold sores on your genitals. Another name for that condition is genital herpes.
It's possible to get cold sores on the genitals, but not inside of the genitals. If some one with a visible cold sore gives their partner oral sex then they could pass cold sores on to their partners genitals.
The cold sore virus is usually localized, once it breaks out some where it doesn't usually spread to other places. You would have to touch the sore and with in seconds touch another area of your mouth in order to spread it. If you have to touch a cold sore wash your hands or refrain from touching other parts of your body like your eyes or genitals for a while.
If you have a cold sore, you should probably go get it checked out instead of using tea to get rid of it. Go to Rite-Aid or Wal-Mart to get cold sore medication.
Cold sores are very contagious during a break out. If you have a visible cold sore then don't share things like utensils or cups when you have a break out. You also shouldn't be kissing any one (specially children) on or around the mouth until the cold sore has completely gone away. You should also know cold sores can also be spread during oral sex. If you give some one oral sex while you have a vsible cold sore you could pass it to your partner's genitals. It's safer to do those things in between break outs or when you have no signs or symptoms of a cold sore.
Popping a cold sore is not a good idea .The herpes virus could be in the fluid that comes out.The areas the fluids splash on could have a cold sore there.Dont pop it unless you have to.If you want it to go away, abreva is a good product.
