I use a wet dry/vac in my sink. If that doesn't clear it you have to stop up the vent pipe on the roof and try again, Be carefull not to overfill the vac. You can remove the connections after the traps and try wire clean out There are also long clean out devices to run down the roof vent into the drain line.
I had a similar problem (although not 2 cups), use baking soda and vinegar - put baking soda about 1/4 cup down plughole the pour about 1 cup vinegar over the baking soda (this will foam - its suppose too), cover sink with a lid (i used an oven tray) and wait for about 15mins, then run hot water down plug, if it doesn't clear use a plunger. It should clear after that, if not try the process again. (hope this helps, i trolled the internet to find an answer)
Home remedies aren't also the best for unclogging sinks. There may also be a bigger problem. But for small clogs, I have used a straightened coat hanger. I just put it down the drain and twisted it, and the clog was gone. If not draino, or liquid plumr are also okay.
by getting underneath it with a pan to catch water, and unscrewing the trap, the double-curved part, and cleaning it out.
1/4" - 3/8 Snake with a boring drop head
This method worked quite well on our sink. Put baking soda around the sink hole (it should clump up and slightly go down the drain). Then add a bit of white vinegar and flush around the sink. It should bubble and your sink should be unclogged. If it didn't work you can repeat till it's unclogged.

The heater core can be flushed out and hopefully be unclogged. A water hose can be hooked to the heater core hoses, and water flushed through to clean the core out.
When a bathroom sink drains too slow it can be frustrating. Many people think that when a sink clogs, a plumber needs to be called. Unclogging a sink can actually be a very simple task and can be done by anyone. Bathroom sinks have to deal with things that other sinks don’t, so they often are the first to get clogged. Sinks can be unclogged in many different ways. Mechanically Unclogging a Bathroom Sink Many people don’t know that plungers are not just for toilets. To use one to unclog a bathroom sink, start by clogging up the little hole on the top of the sink. Place the plunger in the sink and turn on the water until the head of the plunger is covered. Plunge the sink with an up and down motion, as if it were a toilet. Once the sink is unclogged run hot tap water through the pipes to get rid of anything that might still be stuck. A plumber’s snake is another good way to get rid of stubborn clogs. Put the snake into the drain until it hits against the clog. Set the snake and push forward. Repeat this until there is no longer a clog. Then run hot tap water. Other Ways of Unclogging a Sink If a snake is not available and a plunger is not working, there are other ways to unclog a sink. One method is to pour a mixture of one cup salt and one cup baking soda down the sink, followed by a quart of boiling water. This process is then repeated, and will often unclog a sink. However, if the piping is PVC pipe instead of metal piping, pouring boiling water through it might be a bad idea. Use hot water instead. Another method of getting sinks unclogged also involves baking soda. This time, pour a half cup of baking soda down the drain and chase it with a cup of vinegar. Allow this mixture to sit for about thirty minutes. After the thirty minutes is up, pour boiling or hot water down the sink. This should clear up the mess.
