Can you upgrade a Macintosh and add a new game card?

upgrade info for mac

Yes you can! Depending on the type of Mac you have. All powermacs are upgradeable, these are the ones with a seperate cpu and monitor. Depending on what kind you have, G3,G4, or G5. These all can take an upgrade to the graphics card. The New g5's also have have pci express slots, which are more powerful and expandable. All new Macs are running the new OS, OSX. if you are still running OS 9, it is not supported any more. If I remember correctly, you can load OSx on all Macs, except the first generation of the G3 and all models before that. These are the gray box g3s.

If you have a newer powerbook these can be upgraded as well. The Ibooks, I beleve you can but again not 100% sure. As far as the iMacs, these cannot be upgraded. I'm not 100% sure about the new iMac g5, you might be able to on these.

Hope this helps!
