Anything containing aloe is good for burns, as it's very cooling and soothing. Most lotions have aloe in them of course, but if you're looking to treat a burn completely, just buy some aloe gel. Banana Boat Aloe Gel is the standard.

Answer

Not if the burn still hurts--the lotion will act like butter, which we used to put on burns and which made them worse. Ice down the area, 15 minutes at a time, until it stops burning. You can also take benedryl to help with the pain. Once you stop the burning, then keeping the area moist with lotion or cream isn't a bad idea. Some say that aloe gel is a good moisturizer.

Noxema cream. I know it sounds weird, but its true. I know, as I am a natural redhead (from SoCal) that freckles and burns. Put it on your fresh sunburn, and it will actually lower the temperature of your hot burning skin. Noxema is the only thing I have ever found that actually diminishes and cools sunburn pain. Cooling your sun burnt skin also helps with healing.

The camphor, menthol, eucalyptus and other similar ingredients seem to do the trick.

Yes, but sometimes only if you have open wounds or raw skin.

But No Because lotion is very useful and it does help your skin and makes it very smooth and soft.

Generally speaking yes lotion is good, but of course aloe is better. But lotion with keep the skin moisturized and keep it from flaking or prevent irritation.
