If your standard (traditional) TV has a coaxial (75ohm) antenna input or composite video/audio (yellow, red, and white RCA jacks) inputs, and your cable or satellite box provides these standard definition outputs, which most do, you should be able to use either hook up to view content provided by your cable or satellite receiver.
