You absolutely can wet your hair after a perm. (you just cannot shampoo it for 48 hours...and 72 hrs is even better)
You can either fully wet it or use a spray bottle to mist it in order to combat frizz and/or reshape curls.
I've been getting perms for 30 years and I always wet it the next day. My perms last 10 months or more.
Think about the fact that at the salon they wet your hair, put stying products in it, etc. You can blow dry it if you want, use a curling iron on it, etc. Just don't shampoo it!
And don't listen to the movie Legally Blond. Filmmakers take creative liberties. They're not always factual. :)
When you get a perm the hair is in a fragile state. You should not wet it or shampoo it for 48 hours (2 days) after you have had your hair permed because if you do you will damage all the hard work you've done.
It's best not to..the natural oils that build up between washings will act as a protective barrier so the perm will not burn your roots. If you must wash it..which is not advised..use only shampoo.
Yes.
Most people confuse the two.
Perm and Relaxers are different but with either you can shampoo your hair afterwards.
A perm adds curls and a relaxer straightens the hair.
Yeah, you could put your hair into cute little pony tails! Do not braid your hair though.
Not for 48 hours usually.
Yes
yes
Nothing. They wash your hair immediately before a perm anyway.
no you have to wait 48hrs before your hair can get wet or youll lose your perm
Really you would need to ask your hairdresser, but honestly i think you can but then your hair would be wet and loose it's perm so it's very pointless. It's best to wait at least 2 weeks after the perm before you dye your hair.
You can wet it but don't shampoo for a few days.
you should wait 48 hours after getting a perm to shampoo the hair. you may, however, wet it with water if re-styling is needed during that time.
Getting your hair wet after a perm can de-activate the curls. The chemicals used to curl the hair and keep it curly do not hold up when exposed to water. After a day or so, the chemicals have done their work fully on the hair and are no longer succeptible to water damage. After a perm the hair is soft and the cuticle is still open. If you wash your hair the water and shampoo will get into the hair shaft and undo all the work your stylist did and you will have wasted your money.
No, after getting a perm you cannot get your hair wet for at least 24 hours
How the hair curls after wet depends on the type of hair they have. In some cases, their hair will curl after you wet it. In almost all cases, if they get a perm and wet their, it remains straight.
Yes but as long as you use a good heat protectant and a good quality flat iron that won't damage your hair. A good heat protectant is good for preventing damage and split ends, plus it makes hair soft and shiny.
You can wet the hair first before rolling it into perm rods or you can simply squirt each section about to be rolled with a water bottle in order to dampen it. The hair definitely needs to be dampened to effectively roll it onto the rods.
Yes you can wash you hair 4 days after you have had the treatment. You must use the shampoos and conditioners your hairdresser reccomends though otherwise you may ruin the effects of the treatment.
No, normally hair is dyed while dry in the salon.
