It is possible. You could go to a dentist or orthodontist and have them make one for you from a mold they take. They wouldn't refuse your money. However, retainers are technically for keeping what the braces did. Also sometimes retainers are given to people who grind their teeth as they sleep. Yes its possible. i have never had braces in my life, yet today i was given a retainer to wear for at least 6 weeks before they fix a permanent brace to my teeth .

Why certainly, I am 15 and I wear braces. I have heard that, depending on the severity of the problem, only a retainer is necessary to achieve the desired straightening.
