There is no perfect answer to this question. However, here are some suggestions: For the XSi, the most convenient lens is a zoom with 17mm or 18mm focal length at the wide end of the zoom range (equivalent to around 28mm focal length for full frame 35mm camera). For nice single or couple portraits, a lens around 60-70mm gives good perspective. One of the best lenses that will cover this range is the Canon EF-S 17-85mm IS lens. The IS stands for internal stabilization, which stabilizes the image when you are hand-holding the camera and not using flash. If you want more telephoto than 85mm, Canon has recently released the 18-200mm IS lens that should also be excellent for weddings.
18-55mm focal lenses are very good lenses for the Samsung digital camera. Other good lenses for the Samsung digital camera are the 28-90mm and 35mm focal lenses.
A digital camera is not required but recommeneded in the use of tabletop photography. A digital camera simplifies the process and allows for faster results.

Yes alot of them do. You should go to your local camera store and ask them if they do training for digital camera photography. Some do and others do not.
Selecting a digital camera should be based on features that a user needs. For example, some cameras use interchangeable lenses which could be used for special artistic effects. To capture sports events clearly, a digital camera with a high total zoom is needed. A user that wants a versatile camera that can also record HD videos should look for models that have 1080p movie recording capabilities. For professional photography, Digital SLR cameras have powerful lenses and manual controls for taking high quality pictures.
Traditional Photography records light from a camera on to film, digital records the light on to a light sensitive digital CCD that transferrs the image into data and records it as a digital file.
Unless you are a professional or aspiring professional photographer, and take your photography seriously, it's not necessary to spend the money on additional lenses for your digital SLR.

A DSLR will be better for such application owing to its larger sensor size and choice of lenses. Fuji F100fs is the next best option.
