If your car has a carburetor, this is normal. If it's fuel injected, then it could be the Idle Speed Controller going out, bad sensor or clogged injector. There are injector cleaners that you can pour into your gas tank to clean that out. If you used one and it's still doing that, then it could be a bad sensor causing another piece to not perform correctly. Only way to be sure is to have a mechanic check out the sensors and/or the idle speed controller.
I HAD THIS PROBLEM NOT TO LONG AGO. I HAD THE BATTERY REPLACED. NO PROBLEMS SINCE.
because u have a cheep car and have no $$ you need to buy a starter a new one
the engine wont start unless you have the immobalizer key
Dead battery and/or alternator.
OK so i was having the same problem with my truck. It would sputter and not want to start. All it was is the fuel filter. you can buy it walmart for $11 the 3727 is what is needed for 1500 suburbans, trucks, and vans. takes about 15 to replace the part yourself, no special tools are needed, just renches.
reset fuel cut off safety switch after being jacked.
do you have gas in the tank
Is your parking brake on?
IT wont start cause on most cars when you press the pedal down the injectors will not spray out any more fuel that's why if your car is flooded people say to push the pedal to the floor
The manual transmission has a starter interlock which prevents the engine from cranking unless the clutch pedal is depressed
Does the engine have spark? White fumes could possibly be fuel vapor.
Check the throttle position sensor or the idle control motor
Sometimes when used to driving manual transmissions, we forget to press the brake pedal to release the safety so we can shift the automatic into gear. It will not shift out of park unless you do this.
More info needed, Carb or fuel injected????? Check TPS sensor in FI cars - common issue
Is your clutch pedal depressed? If it is, check switch on clutch pedal.
i bet people have told you to press ~ NO you really press ` ( the button next to 1 and above tab)
Check the fuse, bulbs and actual regulator switch in that order
