Ign. switch can be replaced. Remove steering column covers, switch is located on left side of column. The above is correct, but you will have to have the tumblers from your old ignition switch transferred to the new assembly IF they are not worn out. Do do the smart thing purchase the OEM as the aftermarket switch is a tad bit less pricey than the OEM, but why take a chance on an aftermarket item! NO, I do not work for a Chrysler/Dodge dealer!

Q: Changing ignition switch in 2002 pt cruiser I was told you can not change out the switch but had to put in a whole new steering column costing 1200.00. I think this is BS any answers?
