Vietnam was a conventional war using all conventional weapons (no atomic weapons). B-52 bombers accounted for untold thousands of NVA (North Vietnamese Army) lives. Over 7 million tons of high explosives (bombs) were dropped during the war; only 2 million tons were dropped by US forces during all of WWII.

No such bombing is or has ever taken place in the Iraqi region. Vietnam casualties have been estimated to be in the millions.
