Hi Barbara
Lymph nodes are the filtering system of our bodies and people with high allergy problems can also have problems with basically "clogged" lymph nodes.
I know you must be afraid to see the doctor, but please do. Any bump or lump should be checked out and it is usually nothing. You could have a clogged pore in the scalp, etc., but is it worth the chance to just sit and worry?
As far as I know none of us are doctors on here. I have had lumps on my body and had them checked out and all was fine. So please give it a go and see your doctor.
Good luck Marcy
Probably not since cancer filled lymph nodes are painless. Your doctor is doing a CT scan probably to find an infection.
what kind of infection can cause a swollen lymph node in the left breast
Swollen lymph nodes are caused by inflammation, infection or cancer. You cannot drink alcohol when your lymph nodes are swollen because it contributes to the pain.
Take it to the Vet immediately. This could be cancer, and infection or tumor.
Cellular damage and genetic factors influence the formation of cancer. Swollen lymph nodes may be a reaction to cancer, or it may be a reaction to an infection. Also, rarely, lymph nodes can get infected themselves, though a swollen lymph node generally means an immune system response to another condition. A lymph node that becomes swollen often should be checked by a doctor, as it might be an infection that your body is having difficulty eliminating.
Lymph Nodes. Swelling can be a result of infection OR a lymphoma (a common cat cancer). See you vet.
It could range from an STD to and infection to cancer. I recommend that you visit a physician if the condition lasts more than 3 days.
i have seen patients with pancreatic cancer with this condition, yes but usually it is a more common issue, such as a food allergy or salivary gland infection. With pancreatic cancer u have other symptoms aswell, tiredness, weightloss, vomiting, fever, swollen lymph nodes. If its just swollen lip without any other symptoms than it is probably a food allergy or salivary gland infection. This is not a diagnosis and you should consult your physician if you are worried, it is probably something that is not serious but see your doctor just to be sure.
Swollen lymph nodes usually mean you have an infection, either from a virusl or bacteria, rarely from cancer. When I had this condition the best treatment was OTC pain products and heat, like a hot water bottle or heating pad on low. If you have symptoms of an infection in your head area it my need to be resolved to get rid of the problem.
A infection. Swollen glands means you need to take your dog to the vet. It can aslo be lymphadenitis. Here is a website that explains the condition. http://www.peteducation.com/article.cfm?c=2+2101&aid=319

You should eat less greasy foods. It seems to be a build up of fat.
