In the back of the eye ball there are blood vessels. These blood vessels are quite fragile. If the blood pressure is very high, it can result in these blood vessels rupturing so that small amounts of bleeding takes place. This process can result in partial or even complete blindness.

yes it certainly can, it can also cause blurred vision and cause you to see flashes of light and twinkllings. I am 47 year old female and i was diagnoised with high blood pressure at the age of 28 i have been on medicine ever since, mine is hereditary i got it from my dad. if you keep experiencing this please make you an appointment with your family doctor, purchase you a blood pressure cup for your home and a notebook and keep a record of your readings at least 2 to 3 times a day per week. Goodluck, and please do not put this off, it can only lead to a heart attack or stroke. Hope you feel better soon thanks Kathy Gilbert, Calhoun, Georgia
