Yes, depending on your districts guidlines, the minimum to apply for a subsitute teacher position is an associate's or 2 years towards your BA. Just remember that substitute teaching is not a full time job.

Actually, where I live in Texas, you just have to pass a criminal background check. You can then substitute, I do, and am NOW enrolled in college for the first time, but have been subbing for the last 6 months, in a public primary school.

In TN to substitute teach you only need a GED or High School diploma and pass the back ground check.

Depends on the state/district and position. Many aides are mother's returning to the work force with nothing more than on the job training, they however are not allowed to assist in student instruction. I would contact your local district, whether they are hiring or not, and check what their policies.

It depends upon the school system's rules and the level at which you are assisting. Visit the official GED Testing Service website at www.acenet.edu for more information or call 1-800-62-MYGED (1-800-626-9433) to find your local GED Testing Center. The center can tell you: * Whether you can take the GED Tests * Where to find the Official GED Practice Tests * Where to find a GED instructional program * How much it costs to take the tests * When the tests are given * Other useful information

It depends on what type of teaching position you're talking about. Generally speaking, teaching positions at the junior high to high school level requires a 4 year degree. A teaching position at a higher educational institution (college) normally requires masters or doctorate. I wouldn't get your hopes up on getting a teaching position with 2 years.

Requirements to become a substitute teacher vary by state and even by school district. Some states require a Bachelor's degree, while others require some college credits. Some allow subs to work if they have only a high school diploma or equivalent. Check with your local school district office or state department of education for more information.

To teach within the public school system in the United States at the pre-K through high school levels, you must have a bachelor's degree in a teacher education program from a regionally accredited college or university and state teacher certification. This would take approximately four years to complete as a full-time student, provided you take the program as prescribed by the college or university. However, in most states you can substitute teach with 60 college credits.
