You cannot buy an iPhone in stores for such cheap price and not sign a 2 year contract on that phone. That is the reason these phones are so cheap. In order to have an iPhone you can use like an iPod Touch, you must either purchase an unlocked, contract-free iPhone which would be $450 more expensive than its contracted counterpart, or you must simply wait for your two year contract to end for your phone to become unlocked (this will increase your phone's value if you plan to sell it online).
