Millard Fillmore was born in a log cabin in Locke, Cayuga county, new york on January 7 1800 he was the second child and first son in a family of nine children. the family was poor and Millard had to help on the farm as soon as he was old enough to do sothe family only owned two books, a bible and a hymn book .
