If you are unmarried and have no income you do not need to file. If you have a spouse that works then you must file a joint return.

Do you file your taxes if your on disability have gotten married spouse works and have kids?

If you have a spouse, you may file a joint tax return with your spouse whether or not you have any taxable income yourself. In virtually all cases, filing jointly results in paying less combined tax than being married filing separately. And not filing jointly could make your wife ineligible for certain tax breaks like the Earned Income Credit or a Roth IRA contribution.

If someone Lives in California but works in Nevada where do they pay taxes?

Generally, you pay taxes to the state you work in mainly because of the tax withheld. That state then pays your state. Or compensates you when you pay your state.

Can a person claim unemployment in Utah when he lives and works in Califoria?

No. You can only collect from the "liable state" which the employer pays unemployment taxes to, which in your case is California.

How do you find out if a spouse has filed a tax return?

The obvious answer is to ask your spouse. If that is not an option, have your divorce attorney ask your spouse's attorney. You can call the IRS and ask them if by any chance a joint return has been filed with your name on it, but they won't tell you if your spouse filed a separate return. If none of that works, file a separate return (married filing separately, not single). If civil relations are ever restored with your spouse, you can talk about matters and file an amended return later.

How can you not pay taxes but legally?

Not really. You can give up owning your house, or not work. If your income is less than minimum, ($3,300) You do not have to file. If you get married, and only your spouse works, file seperatly so only one of you has to pay. This way you escape most taxes(i.e. income tax).
