I have already written the answer once in more detail but the system cleared it off so I am not giving the same details again (shame). The recording was made in the Scala Theatre, London on 28 and 29 January 1927. It was part of a series of recordings to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Beethoven's death. The orchestra was not Beecham's RPO founded in 1947 but the old orchestra of the Royal Philharmonic Society.I am not repeating the matrix number and take details from my earlier answer but I have all this information.
