In short, who's gonna take over or run things when the big boss is gone. In a slightly longer response, usually this refers to what happens to a business management (operations) as well as ownership during a change of control. For example, let's say dad has a small store. If dad keels over, who owns the store and who runs the store. Maybe mom now owns it, but lets daughter-1 run it. Maybe the kids own it and continue to let dad's key-guy continue to run it. Lot's of scenarios; lot's of different possible solutions.
