I had similar problem last week. I found the answer on autozone.com. I got a gif picture I could look at. you can too. otherwise here goes nothing in text... with AC belt goes http://www.autozone.com/az/cds/en_us/0900823d/80/10/b6/be/0900823d8010b6be/repairInfoPages.htm botom of page http://www.autozone.com/images/cds/jpg/small/0900823d8010b6d6.jpg your image you are looking for or the hard way... start at front and going down from ac compressor... around and over water pump pulley...under crank pulley...up and over tensioner pulley... up near alternator but not over just yet... then under idler pulley. with a 15 MM long handle ofset wrench attach to the center bolt on the tensioner pulley and turn CW this will pull tensioner down. as this happens you have the slack to pull belt over the alternator. now gently release tension till the belt is snug. I have done this enough times to find this to be the best and easiest way to work in this tight space.
If you need a diagram to figure out the routing then you should not mess with it! Hint: It's serpintine! That means that first it runs over a toothed pulley and then it runs over a smooth pulley. The biggest pulley is the crankshaft and is toothed because it drives the belt.[[User:67.86.249.138|67.86.249.138]] 02:33, 1 Mar 2009 (UTC)Get it?
Hey there, To replace the serpentine belt on a 1999 cavalier, is a fairly simple operation provided you have the right tools. You will need a *OEM* brand serpentine belt kit, if you dont want to buy it($33 beans), you can rent one from your local auto-zone or advance auto parts store. About half way down the passenger side of the engine, there is a belt tensioner. This is spring loaded and holds the belt tight against the pulleys during normal operation. you take the long red handled lever in the serpentine kit and put its 3/8 square socket head into the 3/8 square hole in the belt tensioner. You then simply push the lever CLOCKWISE until you have released enough tension on the belt to slide it off of the pulleys. It then can be removed completely and a replacement put on. To replace the belt simply reverse the procedure. There is a serpentine belt diagram on the underhood of most GM vehicles. !!!Caution!!! On My 2001 Cavalier with factory ac, I had to work around the ac lines, place a bottle jack under the engine(not on the oil pan) and wind up unbolting the passenger side motor mount, and the radiator overflow tank in order to gain enough access to service the very tight area around the pulleys. This may be different for you TK out!!!!

There isn't a whole lot of extra room around the serpentine tensioner pulley so here is what I do... I put a box end wrench on the tensioner pulley nut. Then I push on the opposite end of the wrench with a long piece of wood... something thin enough to fit in the space you do have. I think I use a board that is about a half inch wide/thick. It helps if you have someone else remove the belt when you push on the wrench end. Gary from Princeton, MN
The cam sensor is located on the transmission housing near the top close to the firewall.
You have to buy the assembly with the mounting bracket. You can't just buy the pulley itself. You buy the whole assembly and remount it to the engine. that is not the whole truth. you can buy the pulley by its-self. the part is sold on eBay for $33, my father is having this problem and we have to replace the pulley
The specs list luggage capacity at 33 cubic feet and maximum cargo capacity at 143.8 cubic feet.
on a 2002 dodge grand caravan 3.3 engine the head bolt torque specs are 65 foot pounds of torque. be sure to torque them at 10 to 20 pounds at a time and slowly work them to 65

Did your tune-up include an O2 sensor? How about air filter?
