Did George Washington know how to fight with a sword?

While there is no direct evidence that he had participated in any sword fighting in either duels or battles, standard military training of his day included basic melee weapons training including the use of the military sabre for cavalry. It is also known that George Washington continued to carry and wear a functional military sword after it had ceased to be fashionable.
