Describe the beliefs of Karl Marx about the structure and operation of society?

Karl Marx inspires people with his idea of having Alienation, class consciousness and the proletariat revolution. However his research was funded by a wealthy man who owned a factory named Friedrich Engels there fore it is kinda irony to say he actually follows his own idea. and my lecturer also mentioned that Karl Max had a child whowas adopted by a rich man by asking the help from Engels to find him a wealthy family to take care of the child. In my lecture class, critical question was raised. why for what reasons would he do that for?

No, Marx saw that the emergence of new economic systems was tied up with a great many things, primarily class struggle and the development of new and existing classes, the development of the forces of production, etc. Marx and Engels argued that society could be seen as having a base (it's economic system) that very largely shapes what it's superstructure (politics, religion, law, morality, etc) looks like.
