No, there is no evidence to suggest that MJ converted to Islam. In the External links section I have linked to an article that refutes all the pieces of evidence conclusively. He did not convert to Islam, as reported by "The Sun" (the tabloid) and he did not change his name to Mikaeel. ∙ 14y agoJackson was raised a Jehovah's witness from the time he was a child. There is definite evidence that he retained beliefs similar to those up until the year 2006. There is no evidence that these beliefs were ever changed. Before the time of Jackson's death no reputable news agency reported a conversion of religion.

Michael Jackson was raised Christian, in a family where the Jehovah's Witness faith was very important to his mother. But few reliable sources have ever said that religion was a major part of his life; rather, he tried to reach out to fans from all nationalities and backgrounds. He did say to reporters that he believed in God, but he never was as involved with religion as his mother was.
