In a couple of areas he did. After a very successful collegiate career in football, he turned pro. He made a lot of money, made a lot of friends, met a lot of people in the entertainment industry. From sportscaster to movies, he turned pro actor (scary, right?).

As a murderer and a stick-up man he wasn't even passably good. He left a trail of evidence from one end of the country to the other.

So if you are talking football and acting he did go pro.
