Did cabin boys get paid?

I work for Pep Boys and I started at $16/HR flat rate..

he does all the small jobs below deck on a ship: e.g scrubbing the decks and sometimes pulling up the anchor. sometimes he cooks and cleans

not a very good system but flag rate .. but the catch is u have to be 80% productive or else u get paid dirt(yes sound bad because it is bad)
