The royal medal is awarded to three people annually by the Royal Society. The Copley medal is also awarded by the royal society each year and is the oldest Royal Society medal still being awarded.

The Wollaston Medal is an award for geology and the highest award given by the Geological Society of London

The Royal Medal is a Royal Society award as is the yearly Copley Medal and the Wallaston Medal is a Geological society medal. Naturally, Darwin was elected to the Royal Society.
