Not quite. About 37 million people watched Palin's convention speech, far more than watched Joe Biden's the week earlier, but over 1 million fewer than watched Barack Obama's. More women watched Palin's speech than Obama's. Roughly the same number watched McCain as watched Obama's speech. ==Personal Views== I would like to add that although fewer people watched Palin's speech, that there were four additional networks that carried Obama's speech. Also, Palin's speech was on the heels of a hurricane with 2 or 3 more hurricanes on the way. It also needs to be noted that "number of people watching" should not in any way be equated to "number of supporters". Palin's speech was the first time a vast number of people would have had the opportunity to see her. So a fairly large number of people who would not in any way support her and/or McCain and/or the GOP would still be counted as "viewers" because they would check out who she was, what she said and what her stance is.
