No, Roy Rogers was not in Smokey and the Bandit. For some reason people seem to think Roy Rogers played the driver of the yellow car hauler that took the door of Sheriff Justice's car. An actor/stuntman named Bill Saito who was Japanese-American played that role, which is where the joke of him he yelling "banzai" when he did it came from. It wouldn't have made much sense for an old white cowboy to yell banzai.
