They did not run him over. After stepping in front of the tank, jumping on top and talking to the crew, he jumped off and blocked them again. At this point, two people in blue clothes took him into the crowd. Some people say this was the Chinese secret police and that he was executed. Others say he is still alive. No one knows for sure as there is no body, live or dead.
