Public network is where the networked computers are not all trusted. Private network is where all computers are trusted. EG. Public network: cyber cafe. EG Private network: Your work or home network.

∙ 14y agoThe IP addresses that can be used over internet are called public IP addresses. Private IP addresses are IP addresses used on private intranets that are isolated from the Internet e.g. LANs.
The Public IP that can be used over private networks have a specific range. The IANA reserved private IPv4 network range is:
Class A: 10.0.0.0 to 10.255.255.255
Class B: 172.16.0.0. to 172.31.255.255
Class C: 192.168.0.0. to 192.168.255.255

∙ 14y agoA public IP address is an address assigned by your internet service provider. The public address is used so you can be reached from the outside world. others can send message to your public ip address.
a private IP address is the IP address your computer has on your home network or company's network, behind the router (NAT). From outside, this address is not known and can not be reached. This address is used only on the Local Area Network.

Rest are all public ip address
