Differentiate organic chemistry from inorganic chemistry?

organic is carbon, oxygen, nitrogen, hydrogen, and halides. Inorganic has to do with the metals.

inorganic chemistry includes the study of all the elements present in the universe, they are tabulated in modern periodic table. it was later discovered that most of the natural products are formed by the varied combination of few elements listed above, the basic element was carbon, which had a tendency of catenation, i.e. formation of carbon chain or network. each of the varied molecules had its own physical and chemical properties. hence a rapidly growing branch of inorganic chemistry, which focused on carbon compounds was isolated as organic chemistry.
