Answer
Files are the actual programs, documents, pictures, whatever and the directory is where they are located. It is like a tree. The directory is the trunk and all the branches and the files are the leaves at the end.

Difference between file and directory? You have gone to configuration settings there is a set bios directory you are clicking on you it is telling you to browse a file which file should you brouse?
