Discussion on 'Can you kick an uncontrollable 17-year-old out of the ...?'

- Don't kick your kid out unless you are prepared to commit suicide later. I went through it all with my son and never ever once considered throwing him out. He was loved unconditionally. On 5 Dec 2007 he went to bed and by morning he was dead. He died of pneumonia. The coroner was 'surprised' and they are investigating how an otherwise healthy 22 year old could die of pneumonia when he'd had no symptoms.
- Now, if I had thrown him out would I be grieving for him in a normal healthy way or would I be driven mad with grief and regret that I had treated my own child as not good enough for me or my home?
- Think people. What were the last words you said to your child and are you prepared to live with those words for the rest of your life?
