I think the person that mentioned how coffee zapz calcium was right on the money. If you want to increase fat burning eat and drink dairy products (2-3 a day) by making a small amount of fat available your body with look to burn more of the same thing before switching to sugar burning and fat storing. Futhermore, caffeine as a perfomrance enhancer in the gym or in competition is only effective is you don't drink coffee on a regular basis and the most effective is 330mg (3 cups of black home brewed coffee or 1 1/2 cups of starbucks coffee) about 15 min prior to working out. I personaly quit drinking all caffeine for about 8 weeks and then introduced green tea ( 2 cups a day) at 60 mg it not enough effect my performance and has minimal effect on my energy levels but it enough to raise my metabolism, not to mention tanic acid reduces appetite, and it has lots of antioxidants. Whats REALY neet about green tea is that the cafeeine breaksdown slowly (time released)in relation to other compunds in the plants. Because cafeine is released slowly, your metabolism stays raised longer, the boost is gradual (so no rise and down in blood sugar which engourages sugar burning and fat storing ie. tea and coffee act it the same way as high GI foods, green like a low GI food., and the crash is no existantSomething like black has little else but cafeine so it's released all at once. I intend to do a 21 km time test next and at that time I will have a cup of coffee.
