There is a girl in my year in school who we now know, that has been lying. We were doing some research and have been looking particularly at pathological lying. We read up more about pathological lying and found out that the description's fit perfectly with this girl. She is claiming to have a friend, Who is great at everything, and prettier and more talented than everyone else. We have noticed her slip ups lately when we ask her questions about this so called friend. Nobody has actually met this girl, and a few days back , she told us that she had gone on holiday with this 'friend' then only a day later, asked her mother if she could take a friend on holiday this time, as she had never been able to take a friend before now. this made us very aware that this was obviously a lie. We have now got into a situation of denial, where she is denying everything she has said. We are now being classed as 'bullies' although we know that all we are doign are getting facts and telling then to her face. I know a woman who is a pathological liar. All someone has to do is mention a celebrity and she has met him/her and usually they "hit on her" but of course she turned them down. She was John Rzeznik 's girlfriend, the lead singer of the Goo Goo Dolls for several years but has not 1 photo of them together. He took her to the Super Bowl but there is not 1 photo even from papparazzi. All her photos were lost when her computer burned out. She never talks about real people and real situations. The celebrity stories go on an on but never with any proof . Once there was a photo of John Rzeznik walking in an award show with his real girlfriend in a tabloid after she had said she went with him and her excuse was that he asked her to go in the back way and had to go down the red carpet with this other woman because the other woman threatened to kill herself if he didn't take her down the red carpet and of course once they got in the show he was back with her. If you push the issue of why no photos when every cell phone has a camera, she gets very defensive. I tried to just ignore it since I know it's a mental illness but I had to walk away. The whole relationship is phoney baloney. i don't really know this person . They don't even know themselves. What a shame for someone to have such low self esteem and be so unhappy with themselves that they have to invent a new person to be.
