How many children are killed each year by gun accidents?

The CDC link that I added to this article will let you search for many causes of death. I was able to find 2 categories related to firearm accidents.

The quick search that I did returned about 7,900 gun accidents for all age groups in the US from 1999 to 2006. The number for children was substantially lower.
