Discussion on 'If you have obtained a marriage license and the marriage ...?'

Thank you for the answer you gave. My problem is this: I did get a marriage license from the Minister who solemized my Confidential Marriage. He also Notarized both of our signatures. And I had two witnesses present, even though it's not required. I called the the Minister that night because I had a funny feeling about him. A day later he tells me that the County CLerk would'nt accept my husbands signature. It was legible enough. Mind you my husband had suffered a severe stroke so he had to sign with his left hand. Again this Minister witnesses and Notarized our signatures.
The Marriage did take place. So I believe he never turned in the License to the County Recorder. Short of taking him to court what can I do? He refuses to acknowledge my phone calls, letters and e-mails. He has crushed my heart and my husband has since then died. SO it's not like I can go remarry him. This man committed Breach of Contract, and caused me permanent financial loss and hardship. He won't help me rectify the situation he himself caused. What can I do. I'm desperate.
Thanks,

Marseille
