Just thought I'd share this link... If you've never heard of EFT, Emotional Freedom Technique, you might be pleasantly surprised... there are video demos on the website and youtube. One can do it herself, it's like acupressure combined with expression and I experience it as a shift in the foundation at the subtle energy level which instantly relieves various symptoms of any sort of ailment. It only takes a few minutes to do the excersize...

Things have now moved on with my partner since her PFO Closure on 5th Feb 2008 as she is still having continued problems. It is so wierd because her condition is described to me by her as EXACTLY the same as 'Rmswanson' (Jan 18th 2008)............ "It is just my field of vision that is affected. I don't have any headaches, just peripheral vision that kind of flickers almost as if I am looking through a kaleidiscope." .... she continued with "if I look at you I cannot see your face, only what is around you".

Last week she was re-admitted to the local hospital for continued tests and again today she was called in for another endoscopy test to inspect her heart. It seems that her ECG shows a reduced heart flow since the op and she in now additionally been put on Warfin. This is because the medical team feel she may have had (still hvae ?) a small clotting issue that temporarily causes her frontal brain area to be low on blood cause temp loss of central vision. She also has to return to Harefield and has a number of appointments locally for another MRI scan (very soon) and a 'Doppler test', and another 'ECG', and a cardio examination using a treadmill.

It just goes on and on.

My partner has now had her PFO Closure op on 5th Feb 2007 and had to stay two days due to bleeding as she was already on Asprin daily. The operation lasted less than one hour. The wound bleeding stopped and she is now home and back at work. Only problem is she has now developed a sight problem in that she on occasions suffers from loss of central vision in both eyes, and she remains very tired a lot. I have taken her back to her GP and the GP sent her to the local med team at the hospital. They have now referred her for further out patient tests.

Early days still.

A big thank you to both contributors to this subject. My partner (54) is going into hospital on 5th February 2008 for this very procedure and this was the only site I found that explain it all in clear English. All the points raised fit so perfectly well with her condition leading up to and after her stroke that occurred in May 2007. She has been diagnosied with a small 'hole in the heart' and last week visited the heart specialist. Whilst pleased she is soon to receive treatment I am also worried that her appointment is so soon as this indicates to me that it is more serious than first thought. I had no idea what was going to happen during her treatment and your information has helped me a great deal. I will try to let you kmnow how the procedure went after her operation.

I am so glad I ran across this information. I have suffered from Ocular Migranes off and on for about 10 years. I have not been able to link them to any specific source. I have not had one in over 5 years. I recently started a new work out routine that is pretty intense. I have had 2 occular migranes during these work outs in the past 2 months. I have noticed that is on the days when the work out is most intense and I have really pushed myself. It is just my field of vision that is affected. I don't have any headaches, just peripheral vision that kind of flickers almost as if I am looking through a kaleidiscope. It comes on 1/2 way through my hour workout and is usually gone at the end of my routine.
My sister has the same problem. Hers come with headaches and she has highblood pressure.
I hope my info can help someone else who is trying to figure this out. The first time it happens it is very scary. Doctors don't seem to have many answers. I have regular eye exams to make sure this is not s symptom of a larger problem.
Good Luck!
