- Too much gas in a diesel engine will cause the engine to "run wild". The gas will cause the motor to overspeed. YOu will likely not be able to shut it off and it will destroy iteself by overrevving until the engine flies apart.
- The first answer is very good as gas is occasionally used to thin diesel fuel in very cold conditions to keep the diesel fuel from gelling. (usually only in an emergency situation or maybe if you drive in the Artic!) BUT, SOME gas in the diesel will not harm anything. MOSTLY GAS and not much diesel will likely blow up the engine.
- Running an injuctor pump for several thousand miles on gas will cause pump wear but not just by running a small percentage of gas mixed in the diesel.

- I have just put unleaded into a diesel S40 Volvo 04 model. I drove half to a mile home. Realised what I done and called RAC. They told me not to drive the car. They towed me to a Gararge who emptied the tank. Luckerly the engine was ok,they could not find any damage. I got away with it. It cost me £250. It would have been £50 cheaper if it wasn't a Sunday
