What does a Lamictal induced rash look and feel like and is there a remedy while staying on the drug?

Since fall of 2008 I have been taking Lamictal for a bipolar condition. My dose has been small (between 0 mg and 25 mg each day). It is now Sept of 2011. Three months ago I increased my Lamictal from 0 mg/day to 16 mg/day (part of one tablet). I developed an apparent infection in the mucous membranes of my mouth (resembles thrush). Nothing eradicated the "infection", including the use of Fluconazole (anti-fungal). Finally my psychiatrist and I realized that I am experiencing a mild case of Stevens-Johnson Syndrome. I stopped taking Lamictal immediately, and was told to rush to the ER if my symptoms worsen. At this writing my symptoms are gradually lessening, and I am confident that they will disappear entirely. No more Lamictal for me! Great drug, but potentially poisonous!!!
