What happened to photojournalist Richard Boyle after the events depicted in the movie salvador?

I feel bad, because Richard Boyle called me in 2002 wanting to make prints of his negatives. He wanted to set up a darkroom in his Cabin Basement (near Big Bear) and I was too busy with school.
