Yes. tension headache is not the same as migraine. Your attacks are more severe than the average migraine. Visual disturbance and giddyness is the result of temporary disturbance of blood flow to the occipital and middle part of the brain respectively. Vomiting during bouts of migraine although painfull usually does relieve the migraine a bit.Convulsive seizures signal the presence of an abnormal electrical focus in the brain. This abnormal focus is commonly the result of presence of scar tissues in the brain perhaps due to an old head injury which may actually be related to your severe migraine. And i agree that measures that help to relief tension may not help your migraine simply because your migraine source is most probably within you and not outside circumstances.

I don't know how people define "migraine" these days, but mine are so severe that the thought of having sex, going hiking, or jogging through town on a hot Summer's day, is/are absolutely out of the question when I have one, not because I'm a wuss, as I'm most certainly not. It's unthinkable because when I have a migraine, I cannot see, I cannot keep my balance, and if I try to keep on doing things I start vomiting uncontrollably and sometimes I have convulsive seizures. Anyone with THOSE THINGS GOING ON isn't going to feel too sexy or frisky. A "migraine" is NOT the same thing as a "tension headache" -- they are completely unrelated. I have seen many articles saying sex and aerobics help tension headaches; I have never seen one claiming those things help migraines. I'd be interested in seeing the clinical studies that back that claim.
