- Life, the Universe, and Everything (1982) was the third of five books in the Adams "trilogy" that included The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy (1979), The Restaurant at the End of the Universe (1980), So Long and Thanks for the Fish (1984), and Mostly Harmless (1992). A sixth book And Another Thing (2009) by Eoin Colfer and Jane Belson, apparently ended the tale back at the beginning of the first book.
