1)unix can boot from either the boot portion or the logical partitioned portion, whereas the windows can only boot from the first harddisk and form the and only from the boot partition.
2)unix environment is hostile to the software viruses , whereas the windows requires additional software to combat this menace and still is unsure for the new versions of the viruses attack so it is highly prone to the viruses.
